Photography for me began as an escape. Often after a week at the JOB, I would pack up and drive to a location planned in my head as a great photographic opportunity. The entire process was always rewarding, even in the times when soggy socks were all I brought back.
To pay for those getaways, I had to put some entertainment aside and find a way to sponsor a growing hobby. It dawned on me to try and make that extra income using my camera and over a decade later, to my amusement … here I am relying on this craft to provide for my family of thirteen (when you include the two kids, dog, cat, rabbit, and six chickens).
It’s not been all blue skies and rainbows, but so far the journey has been worth the effort. Personally, I think blue skies can get pretty boring. There have to be valleys to appreciate the peaks.
